The same form for main document and response

Is it possible to use the same form for main document and responses?

I need the same document structure for both main and response documents, but I don’t want manually maintain identical design for two form types (i.e. Document and Response).

I can easily convert any main document to response with doc.MakeResponse(ParentDoc) or vice versus with doc.RemoveItem(“$REF”).

However, if the form type is “Document” then each time when user saves document with @Command([FileSave]), $REF field is removed and response again becomes main doc.

If form type is “Response” then each new documents initially becomes response what again is not suitable behavior.

Any ideas how to handle this?

Thanks in advance,

Aivars

A Response to Response can be shown in a view as a main document as well.

How about putting all your fields on to a subform, then create 2 forms (1 document, 1 response) and embed the subform on both?
