Is there any setting within Domino that would evaluate an incoming message and determine that it may be SPAM? In doing so, it puts [SPAM] in the subject line? I suspect it is our front end Barracuda mail filtering solution but wanted to check anyway.
Subject: Although Mail-Rules could be in-play…
I suggest you start with the Barracuda. Domino’s Mail-Rules can scan certain elements of messages for certain keywords (defined by the Administrator) and then take some-action, but this sounds like some 3rd-party product - either external-to (i.e. Barracuda) or an add-on product to Domino. In case you suspect Mail Rules, here’s how you can review yours (if you have any):
-
Open the Domino Directory.
-
Goto this Server’s Configuration Document.
-
Then goto the Router/SMTP → Restrictions and Controls → Rules tab.
Note: Within the view, you’ll see Rules which appear as documents if you have any.
Subject: Server rules
Thanks for the feedback. Oddly, I don’t have the tab called Rules. I’m running R8.0 on the server. Could there be a bug in that version?
I will check with the support group who oversees Barracuda.

I had a corrupt configuration document that showed the tabs once it was recreated from scratch.
