Hi,
We have a third party signature object added to rich text field when someone signs the document. If this third party software is not installed on the client computer, they are getting “The Object’s Application or class is not available” error when they try to open those documents. The error is understandable as the third party application is not available on the client computer.
But the odd part here is, if the rich text field is directly on the form it gives this error but still opens the document. But if the rich text field is in the subform that the form includes, then the error comes but document doesn’t open.
It will be maintainance nightmare if I have to include this rich text along with some other functionality separately on each form rather than using a subform and adding it to all forms that need this functionality.
Any idea why it behaves like this? Is it a bug?
If the document can open when the field is directly in the form, I would say it should
be able to open in it even if it comes from subform.
Any help/workaround is greatly appreciated ![]()
Thanks,
Rajani,
