hi guys
i’ve got a user who has problems when he receives invites to mettings in his inbox. when he double clicks the mail, its registered in the calendar but displays ‘The linked document cannot be found in the view’ message. the same thing happens when he trys to open the corresponding calendar entry. any ideas on this?

Sounds like the user is accessing a replica of the database where the doclink originated from. The user should either access the replica of the database where the doclink was created from or wait for replication to complete and then try the doclink again.

hi alex,
thanks for your response. the user is not accessing a replica. he actually does not even have a replica to start with

I have seen many strange result when the “% used” on a users workspace drops to 70% or less. Try compacting the users Workspace using embedded button on tab2 of the Workspace property.
Might not solve anything in this matter - but is easy to test and cannot hurt…

I think I found this on Notes.net awhile back, but here goes.
When the problem occurs, go to the hidden view ($ByURL) in bookmark.nsf. Select all of the documents and delete them. You’re likely to get an error or two doing this, but it’s safe to ignore. Once all of the docs are deleted, rebuild the view (SHIFT-F9) and exit the database. We have written an LS button to do all of this for the users, and actually just email it to them. Nine out of ten times, this will correct the problems. Of course, on the 10th time, we still have to delete bookmark.nsf and fight all of the woes.
If you’d like the script for the button, email me at leonard.gray@srs.gov and I’ll send it to you. It’s all at work right now, and I’m not.

I used the above method and it worked fine but i’m not sure if its a permanent solution.

Which reminds me of another point. Close the Notes client and delete the cache.ndk or cache.dsk (depending on which version of Notes you are using). Restart the Notes client and the compact the Workspace. That usually fixes a lot of problems too.

Hmmm…ok. Try rebuilding all the views in the user’s mailfile as well as the personal address book.
-
Open the mailfile and hold down the ‘Ctrl + Shift + F9’ keys at the same time.
-
Open the personal address book and do the same. The reason I say this is because it contains configuration information which can affect functionality.
If doing the above still doesn’t help try replacing the design of the user’s mailfile with the mailfile template again.
