The 6.0.1 installer does not register nlsxbe.dll (halts COM toolkit based apps.)

After installing 6.0.1 one of my COM toolkit based applications stopped working. It turned out to be necessary to register nlsxbe.dll again. Does this mean that the 6.0.1 installer forgets to register this file ?

Subject: Windows Installer 2 sometimes not up-to-date on systems

I have no idea if this addresses your issue, but in our environment we found that not all our machines had an up-to-date Windows installer 2. In some cases install wouldn’t proceed, in other cases, install proceeded, but various files were not copied or updated. I downloaded the Windows Installer 2 “installer” from Microsoft and have been running this first (takes 15 seconds at most), then doing the Notes upgrade. So far this seems to be working.

Subject: Thanks for feedback. I just ensure that my installer re-register the file and I’m ok …

… but I would love to hear if others have experienced the same scenario!

I think your Windows Installer 2-idea sounds like something - and I could be the reason. I’ve seen other installers that force you to download a new version of the installer before commencing their own install, so maybe Lotus should consider that approach ? - That is - if this is the problem

Take care!
