One of the admin Notes of our company decided to do a replace design on a mail database that was some corruption. Without doing any fixup // updall // etc, the mail template was in english and the Actual mail database in German. So now when the user try to open any folder (inbox - own folders, etc), the message error is alway there.
They ask me to take it over so the first that I have in mind was to only do a upgrade Folder design to resolve the problem But in my surprise, it cannot be done because folders name are so long that it reach the 64k. When I ask the user to modify the name of his folder, he was like 1000 of them (his database is more than 5gig and the Admin Notes wonder why his users are having problem)…
This is the CEO of our company and the problem is there since a week. I ask to retreive a backup of his mail database (last time is was working fine) but seem to be another problem, cannot remember about when).
So I’m asking your expertize about this. If you have any ways or solution, it would be really nice to ear about it. My futur solution will be to create a brand new mail database but again will cause many problem (calendar entries - needed emails - etc). I thinking more and more to create a brand new email for the user but I know it will not be the best way if he need to retreive old information . I would prefer solve the problem on the actual one (even if to big). After it is resolved, will work of archiving this mail database
