Testing 6.x- Quick question

Hi

I want to do some testing with Domino 6 server, either 6.0.3 or 6.5.1 and I’d like to make the server available in our live environment. I will use an existing test server that is currently running 5.0.13a. The test server only has one connection document to one of our other servers and I’ve set it to only replicate the NAB and Admin4.nsf.

We have over 300 Domino servers worldwide (all at some level of 5) and I don’t want to find that the NAB or Admin4.nsf have suddenly been upgraded to the 6 design on all these servers, for obvious reasons that wouldn’t be good !

So I just want to check that if I set the databases to not replicate Design changes will that be enough ?

We tested it as well. Disable the design elements as well as agents. It’s enough - at least from my experience

Be sure to check the ReplicaID of Pubnames.NTF on your production servers and your test server. If they are the same don’t let them replicate or Design will upgrade your Directory over night :frowning:

Thanks for that point. I’ve checked and yes they are the same.

I have set replication to only replicate names.nsf and admin4.nsf - is this enough ?

Your Test Server is only a Reader of your Prod NAB, right?
