Hello,
I have a database which has many replicas. Sometimes I check the option “Temporarily disable replication for this replica”. It used to work flawlessly until I decided to use the R6 document locking and design locking.
Example #1:
I have DOCUMENT LOCKING enabled for all replicas. The master lock server is A. I made a change to a form of a database (add “hello world” in it) on the server A. I then replicate with the replica on the server B. No change are shown in the replication box. I then open in designer the replica of server B and I open the same form I just made changes to on server A. My change is not there (which is normal). I then close that form. It takes around 5-10 seconds. I then open back that same form and then my change is there!!! (I see “hello world”).
Example #2:
I have DESIGN LOCKING enabled for all replicas. The master lock server is A. I made a change to a form of a database (add “hello world” in it) on the server A. I then replicate with the replica on the server B. No change are shown in the replication box. I then open in designer the replica of server B and I open the same form I just made changes to on server A and my change is there!!! (I see “hello world” without having to close and open that form again).
Sounds really like a bug to me.
I found this technote that is kinda related to my problem:
… but that’s not exactly what happens to me… and the workaround is no good in my situation.
Did anybody ever have this problem?
Should I submit this to Lotus?
Thanks!
