Template changes in 8.5.1?

Is there a new template with 8.5.1 ?If yes, is there a place I can look up the changes ?

I am about to apply our customization on the 8.5 template and I am wondering if I should not be waiting for the 8.5.1.

I am assuming you are referring to the Mail Template? If that is the case then yes there is a new template. The majority of changes in 8.5.1 however are bug fixes so there is very little architectural difference between 8.5 and 8.5.1. This means it should be relatively easy to apply your customizations.
