Tell amgr cancel not working

I have a hung agent. Here is exact example:

On w2k, 6.02 CF2 server, when I try

tell amgr cancel “lawweb\LawForms.nsf” ‘TonerSupplyStatus’

I get a green question mark icon next to

10/01/2003 04:43:49 PM AMgr: Cancelling agent ‘TonerSupplyStatus’ in ‘lawweb\LawForms.nsf’

But the agent is not removed from the list of running agents or from the “show tasks” listing. Even if I stop the amgr process, all processes stop except ‘TonerSupplyStatus’. I have to restart the server to get rid of the hung agent.

I got used to this in domino 5, but I though amgr cancel was supposed to solve this problem?

Subject: tell amgr cancel not working

In the article that describe new ND6 features I read that the cancel command cannot cancel the agent if it uses a third-party application which is hung. Perhaps that is what you are running into? Check the article in case I am paraphrasing incorrectly.
