Tell adminp p mail - mailpolicy doesn't get active

Server Version 8.5.1 FP2

What else did i check before?

  • load updall names.nsf -T “($Policies)” -R

  • checked the local ($Policies) in names.nsf

  • created a new org policy and mail settingdoc

  • the policies are applied in local names

  • tell adminp p mail

result: the adminp task returns very close with the message “Completed Refresh of mail policies 0 Databases, 0 Errors” :frowning: But there are hundreds of databases…it seems like adminp ignores all maildatabases…no changes assigned in the user calendarprofile…

Any ideas? Similar experiences?

Subject: Something to check

Make sure the policy is signed with a user that is Listed in the Admin ECL. To check this…1. Open your notes address book

  1. click on Actions, Edit Administration ECL

  2. See if the user name you saved the policies with is listed here.

  3. If not, you can do one of two things, add your user to the ECL…everyone will get that Execution Security alert and your helpdesk phone will blow up. OR

You can Resign the policies with a user that is in the ECL. Resign Policy is under actions I believe when you have the policy view up. I’ve had this be an issue before. Also, I’ve noticed that unless you open and save the policy after adding the settings it doesn’t always apply. In other words you created the policy first, then added the settings, then saved and closed and then later edited just the settings. The policy doesn’t think it needs updated unless you edit and save the main policy doc.
