I think that is one of the many table attributes which cannot be set or modified by the NotesRichTextxxx classes. If so, you have three choices:
The first, and easiest, may be to create empty tables that look exactly the way you want and store them in documents where you can get at them. You can set any attributes you want, including border cikir, drop shadow or whatever, Then, instead of appending the table, you get that document and get the rich text item and append the rich text using AppendRTItem. This table can now be navigated too and rows added as needed.
The second, and much more complicated, but also much more flexible, is to create the table you want using DXL, then import the DXL. The best way to do this is to export tables looking something like you want to DXL, then write code which will allow you to be flexible where you need to be.
The third, and very simple but costing money, is to get a third party product that allows manipulation of rich text and does support setting such properties. Our Midas Rich Text LSX will allow you to set or modify almost any property of the table, but it is a commercial product, and so will cost something.
I guess there could be a fourth choice of creating an HTML table and importing/converting it, but I think that is one of those techniques that looks easy, and works well at first, and winds up being so frustrating that you need to move to one of the first three later. Just my opinion, of course.
