Syncing Notes Address Books with Blackberry Server?

I know that our BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) syncs our Main address book that is on the server. But how can a user also sync their Personal address book with the BES and thus their Blackberry.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I have been away from the blackberry world for six months. Prior to me leaving, say, late fourth qtr, there was to be a new release of the BES that would support wireless PNAB sync. I talked to one of the tech about how it worked but am a little fuzzy on the details. But from what I remember you will need to have a copy of the PNABs on the BES server.

You should check the blackberry site for updates and documentation for the latest version.

BES 4.0 allows for Wireless synching of the PAB. Lots of changes in this release.

This is done by replicating the PAB to a server (doesn’t matter which one). They suggest using the Roaming features of 6, but it’s not necessary.

You then tell the BES where the replica of the PAB is located for that individual.

The handhelds will also need to be upgraded to the release supported by 4.0 for the version of the handheld.

iNotes (DWA) template is also supported fro the sync’ing. The user has to obviously keep up to date with the sync’ing agent of the template.

In the absence of version 4… you will need to load the Blackberry Desktop Manager. It will use intellisync to sync PAB, memos (journal) and calendar entries (if you’re not using wireless calendar sync).
