All of my users (6) are experiencing some wierd problems synching with our Traveler server. All of these users are using iPhones. Some times the problem is with synching on WiFi other times with 3G. The basic problem is that they have trouble connecting to the server and get an error about not being able to connect to the server. Sometimes I can’t even connect via a web browser (…/servlet/traveler) to check my status. I am running Traveler 8.5.1.1 Build 201002221602. I think it might be a timeing problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Subject: A little more information
As I investigated a little further, I found that the load on the server is almost non-existant as per Windows Performance Manager. Also, it appears that on our office WiFi no one has a problem. I have no problem with my WiFi at home. My problems appear when I have to use a 3G connection. Is anyone else having this problem?

Phillip i had a simillar issue and took me a while to work this out. Users who had normal internet connectivity could access the traveler server via the web but users who had a 3g wirelss card or a 3g iphone could not access the traveler server… below is what i had found. We have two different Network providers at our site who we are connected via BGP. (Border Gateway Protocol)
Both the links have got their own firewall.
During testing we configured only one firewall, and only some of the traffic was coming through second link. ( mainly from Telstra )
Users who have an iPhones or 3G cards that uses the Telstra network could not connect to the Traveler server. However users who have any other provider other than telstra as their provider had no issues whatsoever.
Once the second firewall had been configured with all the right ports opened , the issue was resolved… hope this helps Michael
