I currently run symatec antivirus filtering on one of my servers, this works well.
We’ve just installed a second server which is used at our other site, and as a backup for the external users.
I wanted to purchase another sav license but we are running the new server on windows 2003 and symantec said its not supported on this so i need to buy symantec mail security for domino.
I went to insight (www.insight.com/uk) and found that they sell this, ordered it and paid for it, it came and inside it says the license certificate is to come seperately but should arrive on th same day(this is normal).
I contacted insights support to confirm that this was correct as i was somewhat scepitcal that it was going to come as it had parcels 1of1 on my packing slip… they said it would come that day, i waited a few days and then i rang the number on the symantec licensing card as it says to ring them if the certificate has not arrived. after getting buggered around as to what department i needed to speak to, i finally spoke to someone who told me it was the resellers responsibility to send the license (seems strange that it had symantecs number on there to call incase it hadnt arrived, i perhaps assumed that symantec shipped the licenses out themselves) this was not the case so i contacted insight again and this time they said (the product you ordered does not include the license) " so think to myself what! i bought what the cds and the manual ?? seems stupid to me that anyone would want to buy the media but no license.
Further to this i wish they would damn well say no license on the product information!!
what i ordered was “Symantec Mail security for Domino 4.0 in CD Media PacK” and it says the same on my box. so i presumed that was everything… anyway after accepting this on the chin i ordered the seperate license from their site, ( as i couldnt find anywhere else to buy it and presumed that this would be the quickest) this was back on the 3rd of june, it is still sitting there stating “awaiting stock to fulfil order” i have rung them up 3 times now trying to find an eta, each time they say they will ring back,… they havnt… so now after this long winded moan i am going to ask those of you who have purchased this product, where can i order this from? we are based in the uk, so i need them to ship to the uk
