SuSE Linux/Dom 7.0.2 srv: How do we autostart on boot?

Hi,we’ve just installed our first Domino 7.0.2 server on SuSE Linux plattform.

The server is running nice and smoothly, but we can’t figure out how to make the Domino server start automatically when the Linux box is restarting.

The documentation says nothing about this, at least we haven’t been able to find anything yet.

Any SuSE gurus out there, who have done this, or do have a clue ?

I’m using a modified version of the boot file that came with the Domino on Linux redbook, it works fine for us, even in parititioned environments. I named the script the same name as the CN of the server (e.g., devdomhe) and put it in the /etc/init.d directory, and made it executable (chmod 750). I then ran yast and set it in the runtime level. If the script is propertly written with the right header, it should show up in the list, and set it to run at rulevels 3 and 5.

You need to create an init script for this.

There is an example in the Domino on Linux redbook, but personally I prefer the script of Daniel Nashed as it is much more finegrained and actually cross-platform even though I tweaked it for our particular setup.

See Domino for Unix/Linux Start-Script for details.
