I have been not so successful putting on subform via “insert via formula”, my requirement is simple, if FieldStatus=“Actual”, insert subform A, otherwwise subform B.
What I want is that even after loading the form, should I change value of FieldStatus, the subform will reload the right one based on formula, @if(FieldStatus=“Actual”;“SubformA”; “SubformB”)
From menu, I just select insert subform, than ticked on the formula option, than input my formula. What could be wrong yeah?
Do a quick check to see if FieldStatus really has a value in it. You are heading in the right direction. On caveat is that FieldStatus has to be above this computed subform or it won’t work.
The formula is evaluated when the form loads. Changing the field value after the form loads does not swap the sub-forms.
There are a number of ways you can display different fields based on a field choice
The traditional method is to use hide-whens to display some fields and hide others.
One of the best ways to do this is to use layers - then you only need to apply the hide-when formula on the layer anchor, not all the fields within the layer. You can insert your sub-forms into the layers. The only caveat is that the sub-forms cannot contain fields with the same name.
Layers, is this new feature in version 7, in short, which menu is it on? hoped you dont mind me asking… this is totally new to me, there is always a first time right?
