Strange Stop of Routing and Replication

ServerA and Server B replicate and route fine. The Network between them is upgraded and the servers stop replicating. No connection docs, port settings or any configuration changes have been made. Also no errors on the server console apart from replication fails due to timeout.

ServerA can trace Server B and vice versa.

Administrator can connect to both servers via the admin client.

ServerA can be pinged from the OS of Server B and vice versa.

This network configuration is same as other sites we have and works OK, so the Boss says it’s obviously a Notes problem. Can anybody provice a fault finding procedure for this ?

We have seen a problem similar which was resolved by installing a Cisco VPN client on the box. This appears to change the IPSEC (?) settings but we do not understand why. Any help appreciated.

Error seen on server console :-STREAMNOTES: NSFDBGetNotes <> - Error : A07 = Network operation did not complete in a reasonable amount of time: please retry.

Again after this server A can trace server B and vice versa. No other indications that replicaion and routing is not working.

What message appears on the server console when you start a replication?

Subject: RE: Strange Stop of Routing and Replication

Carl, No error when the replication is started. If enter rep serverB names.nsf . Seems to start OK, even looking at sh tasks, looks OK eventually get error server B cannot be contacted. Get a line with NoteStream in it…“Sorry cannot remmeber exact wording. Will post that tomorrow”.If enter trace serverB, get connected with correct Ip almost straight away.
