This is strange… even upgraded to 6.5.1 with no success. We are experiencing an issue where mail to a couple domains (external to us) are sitting in the mail.boxes or are attempting to be delivered -w- an resulting message of “Router: No messages transferred to domain A”. 99% of the other mails exit instantly. I have run trace at the console and it retrieves IP fine, enabled SMTPDebug/IO to see if anything shows up… no error messages onscreen, etc. Any ideas? Of course… these couple domains represent 90+% of our outbound traffic!!! Thanks team… need some other ways to troubleshoot. I did try the “DNSSERVER=” entry w/o success. I note a “Router: Unable to Obtain Internet Host and Domain Name” message on server restart. I have tried an actual domain name (xyz.com) and the machine name since several domains are hosted on this server. Thanks team…
Subject: Strange… some mail not being delivered
The “Router” Unable to obtain internet host and domain name" no longer appears. I added one of the functional domain names in the server document. I thought this had been attempted already! That said… I came in this morning and mail to the 2 domains is routing fine. Strange…
Subject: Strange… some mail not being delivered (still not sorted)
I’m still having problems with a couple domains (and sometimes not all mail). I send test messages and “sh ta” says router connecting to the domain . I even deleted mail.boxes and restarted to create new mail.box, etc. Any ideas? Again, most domains are routing out fine and sometimes the server just starts magically delivering mail to these domains! This tells me that general config. for SMTP routing is fine. One negative… this smaller server is on a DSL connection that is technically dynamic IP BUT never changes (bridged connection). I have also noticed that router doesn’t start in some cases… and mail just sits in mail box (again same coupel domains).
