Colleagues,Please help me to understand what is happening.
Situation: during mail databases replication between clustered servers replicator time to time reports the error:
Unable to replicate MAIL\Usermail.nsf: Invalid or nonexistent document
This database stops replicating, but some time later (2-3 hours) error disappears and replication continues again.
Databases are different.
This error occurs frequently: for example, approximately 200-400 error messages per day depending on users’ mail activity, 250 mail databases on each clustered server. 20-50 messages per weekend.
This error almost does not affect users because typically they use one replica and do not compare the content of different replicas very often.
Fixup -J -O -F Mail or Compact -c Mail eliminate errors for some time, but several hours later error messages appears again with same frequency.
I’ve found the same situation in 3 different companies and Domino/Fix Packs versions:
-
cluster R6.5.5FP1 <=> R6.5.5FP1,
-
cluster R7.02FP1 <=> R7.02FP1
-
cluster R702FP2 <=> R702FP2.
Antispam and Antivirus soft is different in every case (Trend Micro, SAV, SpamSentinel).
Transaction Logging is always ON
Shared Mail: 1 case ON, 2 cases OFF
Mail templates: 1 case mail6.ntf, 1 - inotes6.ntf, 1 - don’t know (can report later)
Quotas: 300 Mb, 500 Mb, don’t know
Clients: partly Lotus Notes, partly Outlook POP3/SMTP (no Notes client at all).
Monitoring: Event Handler [Any Type, Any Severity, contains “nonexistent”] => mail to {Mail-In Database}
Google and Knowledge Base could not help me :((
The error seems to be not too dangerous, but it is interesting to understand what is it and what to do?
And, if it is possible, please check your clusters for this error (Event Handler for messages containing “nonexistent”).
Thanks in advance.
