Strange behaviour - when running LotusScript I get the original content of a checkbox, not the alias

I have a strange thing happening. A document has a checkbox field which is set to value “1”. When the document opens, the field is correctly treated for its content and when I look at the Properties of the doc from a view, the content of the field is “1”. But, the PostOpen script of a subform contained in the document reads the content of the same field as “Online Event”, which is the original choice that was made (formula for the field = Online Event|1).

This is the first time I’ve encountered the original value of a checkbox rather than the alias. Everything else (like view column content) works with the stored alias. Is this a new “feature” of LS, or am I missing something?

It is probably because you are using the UI-classes to access the field, as in uidoc.FieldGetText(“CheckboxName”).

Use the back-end classes instead to get the alias values.

As in doc.CheckboxName(0)

thanks for the response. I guess you’re right, since I’m working in the PostOpen event. I’ll switch it to test source.Document.fieldname(0) - should fix it.
