I am having trouble with a Rich Text field with the setting ‘Store Contents as HTML and MIME’ set to on, where by when the doc is saved a new line is added to the beggining of the field.
having chatted to a few people i hear this could well be a bug in the notes client when this setting is selected.
Has anyone come across this, and maybe found a good work around for it ?

The fix list database indicates this is fixed in 6.5.4 - It happens on the Client AND the server, so make sure both are up to date.

Alas, both Server and Client are at 6.5.4 and i am still getting the problem

This is a bug, and my impression was that it is not going to be fixed any time soon.
I don’t think Notes handles rich text to html very well. There are a number of spacing issues that come up, with notes removing spaces after you set a tab, adding spaces to the start of the field and adding and removing spaces in strange ways around tables.
The work around if you are looking to convert the rich text to html is to create a temp doc with this property, copy the rich text to it and then use that to export. This is a bit hackish though because you have to open the doc in the ui and close it again to get it convert. (see nsftools - Lotus Notes and Domino Tips)
