Stop relay/bounces

Hello Everyone,

First of all, to get it out of the way, can anyone recommend a good guide for R6 on how to stop relays? I know there must be additional tools to stop all the mail that got through our old R5 server.

Secondly, I need a good way to stop our server from sending bounces to other vulnerable users that are getting mail relayed. Basically we’re getting mail relayed to other hosts through our addresses (I think they modify the principal value) and when our server catches it and rejects it, they get a bounce back. Of course this user has no idea what’s going on and often times sends us back a message back. Even if this has to be done on a per-address basis, it would be helpful, but a site-wide solution is always better.

Thanks alot for any ideas

You will want to make a few changes to your Messaging Configuration Document, which this Redbook shows. Also, you can use field level help in the Messaging Config Doc to help you.

Good luck.
