Stop default value from refreshing

I have an editable Names field "OriginatorPM"on my form with the default value set to @Name([CN];@UserName). Every time a document is opened and refreshed, the current user name is entered in the field. I thought the default value only populated when a document is created. Can someone tell me why the field is refreshing on F9? Thank you.

Sounds like there is something in the inputTranslation event that is reseting this

It populates if it is blank. To fix this:

@If(@IsNew;@Name([CN];@UserName);“”);

or

@If(@IsNew;@Name([CN];@UserName);OriginatorPM);
