Stop cancel of Smart Upgrade

I am using Notes Smart Upgrade with SURunAs. I want to remove the canceloption. I read a link here:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21306212

It MUST have a typo. It’s “qb+!” and not “gb+!” as shown in here:

  • When using the “qb” or “qn” switches for optional arguments, you can use

"gb+! " to hide the Cancel button, such as in

-s -a /s /v"TRANSFORMS=\server\notes\upgrade.mst" /qb+"

My options are:

/s /v"/l*v c:\verboselog.txt ALLUSERS=1 /qb+!"

User still gets the option to “Don’t Update Now”.

Subject: Use desktop setting in policy instead?

What pmr 37069,500 is telling me is that the user still gets the option to “Don’t upgrade now”. That option (qb-!) just stops the dialog box during the upgrade, after they accept the upgrade.

They are telling me that I should modify the desktop setting and put a “Deploy Version” in there (which pmr 36508,500 said not to leave blank). Once I use a deploy version then I can turn on an upgrade deadline and a “remind me every hour”. Using an upgrade deadline should grey out the “Upgrade Later” option.

Does this sound right?

I don’t think 36508 is solvable because the smart upgrade tracking database is full of holes. I’d rather have the grey out than to have smart upgrade tracking.
