Stop an Opening

Once Notes begins to open an e-mail with an extremely large attachment, is there any way to stop the process? I have yet to be able either stop this, or any other process in which a large attachment makes the timing inconvienient…

Thanks

Generally speaking, it shouldn’t take substantially longer to open an email with attachments than one with no attachments. The attachments aren’t accessed unless you try to do something with them, and their contents are not part of the contents of the message – they have a separate storage and aren’t loaded into memory unless requested. Do you have some mail file customizations that may be affecting this, or are these some special kind of message? Is there a paper-clip icon when you see them in the inbox?

No, I just have some e-mails that have large attachments, >5MB. It is these, and even larger ones that take so long to access. Sometimes, it may be an accidental access (i.e., I clicked on the wrong e-mail). Then I have to wait for it to finish opening to open what I really wanted to.

Please address the points Alan and I raised. I asked questions and you didn’t answer them.

Subject: I bet it is their anti-virus program scanning the attachments.

On a PC in Windows, this keyboard combination will stop some processes. I dont’ have a large attachment and any I have open quickly.
