First off, thanks to the help from this board for heping me get the Domino Administrator running last week. This board has been very helpful, especially since IBM has flat-out refused to help me with my eval (they will not provide pre-purchsae tech support).
So I have a trap setup for every possible event group (there is a bug in 8.5 where you can’t just say “any” event type, you need to make separate event traps). But I’m not getting any traps, at all. I was somewhat assuming I would be able to get an SNMP trap every time an email would be sent/received, server gets restarted, and so on. What am I missing in my setup?
Any help would be appreciated…
Subject: can anybody help me get SNMP traps?
I’ve followed the doc for setting up SNMP traps in the Domino Administrator, and the workaround for the bug in 8.5 of not being able to select all events is to make a trap for every event type. I have both the lotus and windows SNMP services running, with the traps configured in it to go to my listener.
However, nothing seems to be triggering an event. Sendin/receiving mail, restarting the service, connecting/disconnecting from the console…shouldn’t these be generating events? If so, why am I not getting any? If not, the what WILL trigger an event that will cause a trap to be sent out?
I’m trying to get our product integrated with Domino/Notes, and it is dependant on getting SNMP traps from it.
Any info would really be appreciated…
