Hi
I have 1 readers and 1 authors field on a form. In both fields I have 2 roles ( [Server] and [Admin]). I have created a few documents with the form. For testing purposes I have not assign the roles to myself ( I have manager access).
But still I can see the documents in the database. On the form property( security tab) “all readers and above” and “all authors and above” are selected.
What can I check to find out why I can still see the documents?

Sometimes it helps to close the whole database in client and designer or restart notes. I have experienced that the changing of roles is sometimes not interpreted at once in notes 6. That’s really annoying if you’re testing. If you’re not in the reader or author field and don’t have the roles, you should not see the documents.

have you unchecked the Form´s Readers access level. So that only defined Groups or Roles is assigned the proper access rights?

Hello,
have a look at the Database ACL. Select the user you assigned a role to and click on “Effective Access”.
Be sure that the user is not “Full Access Administrator”.
If it is, you need to change it in the Domino Administrator and try again.

I’m note sure, but the EDITOR ACCESS (Or DESIGNER, OR MANAGER) allows you to see/edit a document ignoring the authors and readers field.
Subject: Sorry, but that is wrong. If there is a ReaderNames field on the document…
and you are not in it (or in an AuthorNames field in the same doc) you will NOT be able to see the document, unless you have Full Access Administration enabled on your client. It does not matter how you are listed in the ACL. Editor access will allow you to edit any document (that you CAN see) overriding the AuthorNames field.

This is absolutely not true. An AUTHORS field is overridden by Editor access, as it only modifies the access of users with Author access in the ACL. But Readers fields apply to all access levels, even Manager. If you’re not in the Readers field, you shouldn’t see the document. That said, there is a new setting in the R6 server document that allows users to be designated “full access administrators”. As far as I know, users with this access are not affected by readers fields - it was designed this way to prevent complete lock-outs if someone has set up readers fields incorrectly or badly.
Subject: Authors fields also give Readers access
While I concur with the essense of your posting, the statement “If you’re not in the Readers field, you shouldn’t see the document.” is not the whole story. Since Authors fields also act as Readers fields, you can see a document if you’re included (via Name, Group or Role) in either Readers or Authors fields.
