I have a field that is supposed to show the amount of revenue from a given time period. My 1st guess was to use a view with a total column and selection formula that only brings in docs from a certain date range. Does this sound crazy? e.g. Q3View should only bring in docs with creation dates of 01OCT-31DEC (and with form status of sold). I know how to do the column total + selection of “sold” docs but not the date range. I need to do the same for an annual period (e.g. AnnualView that selects all docs with current year). This one seems easier because I could create a tmp field with only year. It is the quarterly or month ranges that are causing the confusion. Thanks team…
Subject: Status Field & Date Range (from View)
[10/01/2006] <= @Created & @Created <= [12/31/2006]
might work.

Really??? Wow… that would be great. I was thinking this would be COMPLEX… hmmm.
I’ll try… thanks. Can you explain the brackets?

Brackets identify it as a date, just as quotes identify it as text and you use nothing to identify a number.
You can certainly make it more complex ![]()
If you are willing to, you can have a form for the user to enter the start and end dates for the start range, and then when they submit it use Lotus Script to generate a report on the fly (no nead to save if you are on the web, simply spit HTML to the screen, OR if a notes client, dump it to a document and then display the document). I’ve done this lots for clients, if you’d like some sample code just let me know what type of stuff you’re trying to put in a report and whether its notes or web.

Many thanks… I like simple!
The on-demand reports sound cool. I was hoping to integrate some basic reports (this is all via web) where users could select ranges… maybe some charting. I would appreciate any samples/guidance. My email is dominoadmin@hotmail.com. I want to switch to an AJAX-based status monitor vs. JS refreshes. It is not that bad… monitor is only ~1/4 inch tall and apsn the bottom of the page. It provides basic sales #s, etc… Have a great weekend. Thanks for your assistance.
