Status Bar stops updating

I am using R6 CF1 and notice the following problem:

I use “print” statements in agents and actions to display information on the Status Bar. I have been doing this for a long time - without any issues. For actions that take a long time I click another application to the foreground - but I can still see the status bar information from Notes in the background.

I got a new machine, XP SP1, and as soon as I click any other application to the foreground - when Notes loses focus the status bar stops updating until the action is done. Even the “lightning bolt” stops and doesn’t flash - even though the action is active and does finish without error.

My home machine, which is also XP SP1, does not do this and the status bar continues to update after Notes loses focus.

I have looked for either Notes or XP settings but have not found anything.

Has anyone else seen this?

Am I missing something easy?

Only a suggestion, but check for differences between the Toolbar and Status Bar Preferences on each machine…

Thanks for the reply.The preferences are the same - and I have tried changing them.

I think this may be an OS issue - as I also have an R5 client on each machine and they also behave the same.

Each machine has two clients where the status bar behaves the same - either they both work or they both stop updating (even the lightning bolt) as soon as Notes loses focus.

Yep, sounds like an OS (or machine) thing.
