Stat and Events

Hi Chris,

in reference to this thread:

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/DateAllThreadedWeb/33097f4fd67dcb6385256d480033b8f3?OpenDocument

I’m not able to create the necessary document in events4.nsf db to log the stuff you are talking about. (Found in DNS Black List, Rejected for policy Reasons and the built in events).

I tried, but nothing is logged in statrep.nsf

Could you explain us how to create this configuration step by step ?

Do I need any other tools like Log Analyzer or Mail Analysis to perform this work ?

Thank!

Two things:

  1. My friends at OpenNTF.org would probably suggest this as a starting point.

  2. My somewhat more labour intensive solution is this:

Create a database based on the statistics reporting template (make a separate one, don’t just use statrep.nsf)

Create events in Monitoring Configuration like so:

You need event traps for

“found in DNS blacklist at”
“rejected for policy reasons”
and the built in event “SMTP Server: disconnected. message[s] received”

That’s really all there is to it. These events turn up in the view “3. Events” in your reporting database. I use a tabular text export of this database and command line utilities (scripted) to count up the various types of event.
