I am experiencing a very strange problem.
I have created a database with the Designer 8.01 client. I have replicas locally, and on a 7.03 server.
In all of the replicas. the the “Starts with…” feature (the one where you start typing in a view and it goes immediately to the first sorted row starting with what you typed) feature fails. The error message “Could not find ‘a’” (or similar) appears.
Similarly, when I am using ?readviewentries&startkey=whatever on the web, no rows are returned.
I have of coursed sorted (or categorized and sorted) the first column, which in the past has worked in every version of Notes/Domino I can remember going back to 3.0 beta.
I am really puzzled here, and am wondering if there is something new in Notes 8.01 that I don’t know about, or if anyone else has experienced a similar problem.
The views themselves are created based on test data which I imported using an agent, and I have checked properties of the documents (and the items within it) as well as the properties of the views, and don’t see anything unusual in them compared to another view in the same database–but which was cut and pasted from an old database created with the 7.02 designer–that works just fine.
Any pointers are insight are most welcome.
