There are several ways of doing this

look for startup scripts (there should be a number of examples in this forum already) that can be used to automatically start the server at start up for example from /etc/init.d & rc?.d for your favourite runlevel

'/opt/lotus/bin/server & ’ will run it detached from your terminal, that might also do the trick but you won’t be able to get back to the console afterwards.

you could consider running using ‘screen’ that way you can attach to the domino server’s console afterwards using the command ‘screen -r’.

there’s also the server controller which you could use in the scenario’s above, just start the server as ‘/opt/lotus/bin/server -jc -c’

Hi,

This is how it should be… When you kill the parent the child will follow.

What you can do is to use the nohup command or e.g. the screen command.

The best thing would be to write a script which will start and stop the server, eg. add this to the runlevels.

Check a simple script here:

thanks, the script works well!
