Standard version 8.0.1 unable to launch

Hello all,

I have encountered a problem during opening Lotus Notes Client 8.0.1 Standard version. It doesn’t have any response when I click the icon.

Then I tried the following but failed

  1. Remove other parameters in notes.ini and try to open Lotus Notes to reconfigure

  2. Delete cache.NDK

  3. Remove bookmark.nsf

  4. Delete others NBF files

  5. Cut log.nsf from data directory

Then I tried to execute Lotus Notes in Basic version by “nlnotes.exe”. It works with no problem. Although when I execute standard version. It doesn’t have any response.

So the problem is that Standard version doesn’t work only Basic version works. Rather than uninstall and reinstall again.

Does any brothers or professionals have some ideas what’s going on Lotus Notes Standard/Basic version ???

Subject: had same problem with one user

Basic would work fine. Standard would always hang (not crash) during startup, with no error messages. By process of elimination we determined it was the driver for his Kensington track ball. With it installed, Standard hangs, without the Kensington driver, all is well. For now, he is living without the driver.
