SSO: How does 'minimum timeout' work?

Hi,

I am reading up on the ‘minimum timeout’ field introduced in the SSO document in Domino 6. This technote explains how the field is used: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21160458

What I am curious about is how this timeout value is implemented on the server side? How does the servers know when to time out the session? There is a hint to what this in the technote which says that the actual time it takes for the session to time out can be up to twice the value given in the ‘minimum timeout’ field. Can anyone answer this?

Thanks,
