SPF Problems with forwarded Mails by Mailrule

Hello !

When an Mail is forwarded to an SMTP Address the SMTP Header field “MAIL FROM:” ist left blank.

As a result some Mailserver with SPF activated do not accept the mail or more worse will delete the mail immediately as they cannot verify the Senders Address.

I could verify this on Releases 6.5.2, 7.0.2 and 8.5 ( all Linux)

Has anybody some Information concerning this strange beaviour ?

there is a setting in the config doc to turn this on:

Router/SMTP > Restrictions and Controls > Delivery Controls > Reverse-path for forwarded mail

The default is set to NULL so just change it to one of the other options.
