Hi All,
Just thought i’d pass this on for those who dont already know it. Spellchecker usually behaves itself so I dont get to deal with it much.
I have come across a error with spellchecking in a notes client (this particualr version was v5.8) but I’m sure its could affect all versions.
The error showed up when performing two different actions:
1st Action
User clicks on spellcheck upon creating a mail and notes throws up the error of “file does not exist”.
2nd Action
In Notes v6+
User clicks on File > Preferences > International > Spellcheck > and clicks on Edit User Directory they get “File may be truncated”
In Notes v5
User clicks on File > Preferences > User Dictionary they get “File may be truncated”
I have seen this (file does not exist) error a number of times before and the normal fix was to copy a new uk dictionary (uk.dic) file accross to the data folder.
Unfortunatly this fix did not resolve these issues. I eventually narrowed it down to the users custom dictionary that caused the corruption (filename = user). Once this file was renamed Notes was fine.
Hope this helps save time for someone else
Regards Gary
