Up to now we have let our users archive their mail files. They are being archived to networked attached storage. Users specify a drive letter and folder that points to their home directory that has security set so that only they can access it. We are wanting to implement server based archiving with policies on a scheduled basis. I have successfully setup the policy and and archiving is successful to a file server that has a folder link to a directory called mailarchives. This way a user can do a file/database/open and it appears as though the folder is on the Domino server. Is there a way to specify another level of folders so that the archive would go to mailarchive\username. The archive directory in the policy document would look something like mailarchive%username%. The username could be either the network login or the Notes login. This would allow us to apply the same file security as now exists on peoples home directory. Thanks.
Subject: Specifying an archive directory with a variable
Fred - I realize that this is a rather old posting but we’re looking to do the exact same thing & I’m wondering if you ever found a solution to this.
Any info would be appreciated!
