Spamhaus blacklist not working

I enabled spamhaus in my blacklist a few days ago, but don’t see any smtp.dnsbl entries in the “sh st” or in the log.

Is this because of the latest virus spoofs??

Anyone else using Spamhaus?? Is it working??

Or, Does anyone have static IPs of the major spammers?? I can explicitly name them in the Inbound Deny field

I too, am trying to implement Blacklist Filters.In SMTP Inbound Controls, I have set sites as sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org; list.dsbl.org.

I don’t know if this is related but every time I save this configuration, a message appears on the Domino Console: DNS: Non existent domain.

I can use nslookup on the Domino server to look up the addresses without any problem.

Not only that, when I run a test (E-Mail to nelson-SBL-test@crynwr.com), the result is:

Uh-oh, your SBL block is not working!

I think I had this same problems awhile back & this fixed it:

Check your Server doc in the hostname field. Also, check the IP of hostname in the Network Ports TCPIP field. These all should be the same valid name/dns.

Thanks Victor. Both names are okay for our network i.e. the domino server is inside our firewall and the name I am using in both fields is the same and is recognised correctly by our DNS server.

Subject: Resolve Spamhaus DNSBL a problem with AT&T

I found a forum post that AT&T (by default) is NOT allowing DNSBL lookups due to increased traffic.If you are an AT&T customer, call them to get an alternate DNS server IP that does allows DNSBL lookups.

I did this & now I see blacklist entries in my log file.
