I have started to use the filter rules on our DOMINO server to try to reduce the number of offensive E-Mails going to users.
I have set up a rule to put E-Mails with certain words, or derivatives of words into another database called SPAM.nsf.
I have made the design of this database the same as all others i.e. Mail(R6).
Any E-Mails that are trapped and redirected end up in the SENT folder of SPAM.
Is there a way I can get them to go into the INBOX instead or is there a simpler way I should be doing this so that the SPAM database can be reviewed regularly and emptied?
Subject: Spam word filter redirection?
Also, while adding words to be filtered, I note that I cannot add “who|esa|e” and it appears on my exclude list as “who”.
It then cannot be removed.

Hi,
You can set the “All documents” view to be the startup-view when opening the database. Then you will go directly to the view with all the SPAM-documents.
Special characters are not supported in the rules. Therefore you cannot filter on | .
Subject: RE: Spam word filter redirection?
I tried entering a rule on the word ‘who|esa|e’, and ended up with a rule for ‘who’ and I am unable to remove it. I select it and click remove and nothing happens.
It looks to me like ‘special’ characters are a bug in the lotus notes system… and the spammers are wise to the problem.
So how does one remove a rule that can not be removed ?
Thanks for any help!
