Spam from Adjacent Domain

I have been rather humbled by this problem. I receive SPAM from a server in an adjacent domain. To make a long story short they use notes because they have to to do business with us so they do very little admin on their server and are slow to fix problems. Anyway, it looks related to the postmaster account. Today I received spam with an empty To: list. Scenario:their server receives SPAM as well as viruses via SMTP and then routes them to our domain via NRPC, SMTP listener is diabled on our server. Mostly to me and I assume it may have to do with being the postmaster. Any thoughts out there on what I’m missing and on how to stop this ? I would love to hear from anyone else who has encountered the same issue.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Subject: Spam from Adjacent Domain

Michael,

How are you stopping spam now for your domain?

One quick suggestion- do you want to receive SMTP mail from this adjacent server? Or should it be strictly Notes mail? If itr’s smtp, can it be possibly restricted a one or more domains (i.e., xyz.com, and abc.com- only accept mail for those domains and ignore everything else?).

Thank You,

Mike Robinson
