Is there anyway to filer spam messages been routed to my mail server, any built-in feature or setting or configuration to filter the spam mail apart form Blacklisting…?
Subject: No…
I mean, if you see the same IP address coming in you can always blacklist those, plus you can use the blacklist filters out there like spamcop, etc., but to be honest, you really need a good third party tool. If you want something cheap and that works with domino, using domino db’s, MimeShield is a good product. Depending on how you set it up, it can be labor intensive. GFI is another product that gets good reviews, but it’s not cheap. It does however, learn better on the fly.
Hope that helps.
Subject: kspam of open ntf is free (works acceptable here, but filter needs time for getting started, and gets worse if there is no time for maintanace).
Subject: a vote for trendmicro scanmail
We use Trendmicro’s Scanmail and it works quite well for us. I know others who didn’t like it though. If you already have a network or PC antivirus product, inquire about Domino support. Scanmail has AV and spam filtering.
For third-party products, some of your choices will be based on the operating system of your Domino server.
You aren’t going to want to use server rules, or some other manual process, to try to stop spam. That’s like trying to plug a leak with your finger - it ensures that all you have time to do is keep plugging the leak, and eventually, the leak find another way around anyway.
Subject: A vote for Barracuda
Barracuda Spam Firewalls are great and quite affordable. Off-loading the scanning takes load off of your Domino servers, too. You will get a new level of visibility into your SMTP mail flow - makes troubleshooting, “I didn’t get that e-mail” requests a whole lot easier.
If you want to run something on your servers, Spam Sentinel is supposed to be a solid product (and they’ve been around for some time). http://www.maysoft.com/
Good luck.

Great product…blows my previous recommendation of MIMEShield out of the water. Only problem is that it’s still Notes DB reliant. Things like GFI and Barracuda are wonderful alternatives.
