Hello, I am having a problem with spam delivering to users at their not listed alias address, for example, user john weber, internet address listed john.weber@abc.com, short name/user ID has jweber and jweber@xyz.com,
problem; he is receiving a lot of spam addressed to weber@abc.com; how do I force domino to accept/deliver messages to addresses listed in the person’s doc.? Thanks in advance.
Subject: spam / alias address
Server’s configuration document:
Router/SMTP - Restrictions and Controls - SMTP Inbound Controls Tab
Enable - Verify that local domain recipients exist in the Domino Directory
Subject: spam / alias address - more
Oops, your right, by itself, that setting isn’t enough.
We also have on the configuration document:
Router/SMTP - Basics
Address lookup: Fullname only
Exhaustive lookup: Disabled
Subject: RE: spam / alias address - more
thanks people! i think it will solve the problem, but i’ll have to first put in all the legit alias in the per. doc. then I’ll try it. thanks again!

I have my server set up this wayUnder smtp inbound controls-Allow messages intended only for the following internet addresses:I specify all users here.user@domainname.com
so if someone is trying to send an email to
a name not listed here the server will say relay to recipient’s address denied by your configuration. This has helpled becuase it will only be logged and no dead mail. Before I implemented this i had tons of dead mail. Also keep in mind I only had to type in about 40 email address here so if you have thousands of users I don’t think it would be to practical.
