Those out there with a P800 who are trying to synch it with Notes calendar will know what I mean when I say it sux! however, I fixed mine and maybe this can help some others with the same problem.
The following is for Notes 6
What I did to fix mine was to create a new Mail File and Calendar by selecting FILE → DATABASE → NEW and select the Notes 6 Mail template. Make sure you name it something other than your default mail file.
Once this is created I then added some entries to it’s calendar and changed the settings in Sync Station to point to the new nsf file. I synced and the synch worked fine. I then changed the Sync Station settings to point back to my default mail file and synched again with no problems.
It seems like it just needed a kick start. Maybe some Notes gurus out there can tell me why this worked!
Subject: Solved: Sony P800 and Syncing Notes Calendar
I have found a solution for the calendar synch problem (Notes 6.52 and P910i). I assume this also applies to older models.
The problem occurs if the user creates a folder called “Meetings” in his inbox!! Do you wonder why? “Meetings” is the alias name of the view “($Meetings)” in a Notes mail database. Looks like this view is used for the calendar synch. Renaming the user’s folder fixes the problem.
In my opinion Notes should check the names of folders created by the user and not accept reserved names to avoid such problems… Perhaps a good tip for future releases?
An easier solution for me was to install the new Sony Ericsson PCSuite that now supports Notes 6 (and works with 6.5). After unsuccessfully trying all year to sync my Notes calendar with the P800, the new version works great. The sync software was released for the new P900, but I’m using it for my P800 without a problem. Get it here:
That was the problem I had since January with all releases of the software. The new software worked immediately. It seems that even with the earlier releases, that it works for some people and not others. No one has been able to identify what settings combinations or hardware variations are causing the failure.
I am using a P900 + sync software 2.01took me again more than 2 days to fix the old calender problem. My solution was to generate a new database replica.
I am having a similar problem using the very latest software from Sony (2.1.1) with Notes 6.
I can get the calendar to sync FROM my P900 to the Notes Calendar but Notes Calendar entries do not appear on my P900.
I created a new database using the Extended Mail tempate and that worked perfectly. But is does not work with my standard company mail database. Either on the local replicated version or online version.
Do you think that the template file could have been modified in any way to stop this working ? If so, why would it work in only one direction ?
I’ve synched successfully with both Notes 5 and 6 using the packaged SE Phone Connection Monitor. It doesn’t work if your mail file is on a network drive. I replicate a local database on C: and sync to that.
Only catch with Calendar is that it doesn’t bring across Notes Anniversaries - anyone else found that???
I seem to have the same problem as you and I haven’t found a solution yet. I tried a software called (mighty phone pro) but it doesn’t support notes 6.5If anyone has a solution to this it would be great to hear.
