I’m always getting the message “The server is currently unavailable. You must be connected to a server the first time you create a vCard.”

Subject: When creating the vCard data for the signature for the first time, Notes is taking the Mail File Owner from File->Preferences->Mail. It is using that name to retrieve initial information. The lookup is done against local and server address books. See File->Preferences->location. The server name can be found on Server tab. When this lookup fails, you will get this error.
Subject: Local Directory Catalogs
I tried a whole host of combinations, as per the recommendations, and it didn’t work until I removed the local directory catalogs from the Local Address Books field in File…Preferences…Mail…Sending and Receiving. Then it worked. Seems like the address book search under the vcard Signature skin doesn’t like local dircats.
