Some internal and external mail becomes dead mail

Hi,

Since yesterday our mail boxes fill with dead mail, both internal mail and external. The external mail is more likely to be routed but some internal mail sits there until it’s released.

I’ve enabled verbose logging but there appears to be no pattern, some mails are delivered others become dead.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Gary

Commonly caused by flaky DNS/DNS issues at your company/ISP. Temporarily replace the domain name in your server document (Ports> Notes Network > Ports Tab) with the actual IP address of . Change back once you have corrected DNS issues. Notes delays mail when servers cannot be reached then kills the message (based on settings in your mail config)

Restart the router:

tell router quit

load router

Release all dead messages in the mail.box

I found the answer, we run anti-virus for Domino on our system and the mails that were being held were ones with attachments. The av software was holding the messages in the mail boxes but wasn’t scanning them. I restarted my server and problem was solved.

Thanks for your reponse anyway.
