[Solved] Route Internal mail externally

I have one small server that we use for a specific task. It has 10 or so users that connect and they need to be able to send email to the external world.

Our server is currently setup to send (via SMTP) email, but it is not setup (nor will it be setup to recieve mail).

The problem comes in when users try to send mail to themselves.

Example:

Joe, has a Lotus Notes login and uses that to connect to our server. He has an email address joe@company.com and recieves email via Exchange at that address.

I have the Domino server setup with joe@company.com listed as the “Internet Address” in Joes person document.

Joe can send emails to someone@gmail.com and they are delivered properly (to the email address someone@gmail.com)

When Joe sends email from Lotus To joe@company.com the email is delivered to Joe’s inbox in Lotus, rather then the desired behavior of to his exchange mailbox.

I hope I’ve explained things well enough. What I am looking for is some way to configrue things so that the mail that would normally be delivered to the server is delivered to the exchange server instead.

Thanks in advance for any advice given

Ok I tested this last night and it had this behavior… but this morning it doesnt. Perhaps something needed to update through the server. Either way it is working as expected now.
