Solved: Mail in local mail.box is not sent when connected to server

Hello everyone,we recently installed the Notes 8.5.2 Client on several Windows systems.

There is a very uncomfortable problem on one system when working offline. When the user (Roaming User) is working offline and writes Mails, they will be stored in the local mail.box. But when the user changes the location to online and replicates his local mail.nsf with the server, the mail will not be sent. Even if the user chooses “Resend all unsent messages” nothing happens.

The user has to restart the Client in order to get those mails sent.

FP1 is installed but I am rather clueless right now. Anyone had the same problem or any suggestions?

Thank you very much,

Marcus

Subject: Location Document?

Check the location document to make sure that the Location offline has Through Domino Server set.

Subject: RE: Location Document?

Hello Nathan,

I did check the location document. It all looks fine to me. The mailfile is stored locally and sent using the Domino-Server.

What I did not check yet is the field “Send outgoing mail if”. As far as I understand it, any number of mails under the specified number will not be sent until that given number is reached.

But nevertheless, the mails should be sent when replicating the local mail file with the server.

It seems to be working fine on the servers side, too. Maybe I should set the settings of the location document to something else, save and restart and then reset them.

Edit:

Okay, guess what: The location documents looked fine, but creating new ones with the same settings actually solved the problem!

I think something like was had to be expected, since the user upgraded his client from 6.5 up to 8.5.2.

Subject: Not solved for me

Hi!

I’ve read your post because we are having the exact same problem.

I tried your solution, I created 2 brand new locations, Travel and Office, and could not get email sent out from mail.box after switching from travel to office.

Have you found other similar trouble since then? Is this issue definitively solved for you?

thx!

Subject: SPR on its way

just to let you know that the problem comes from the replication interval is set on the Travel location.

As soon as you de-activate the interval, the problem disappears.
