Could be you’re mixing up different things.
As far as I know, ODS 43 no longer allows you to create a database that has a 1 or 2 GB limit (don’t remember of hands, if it was already the same in Notes 5). Even if it should still be possible through the command line option for the compact task (what was it? -M?), it is now undocumented and thus unsupported.
These limits were sometimes used up to Notes 4, when the maximum size of a db was 4 GiB, anyway. As Buzz pointed out, if you want to limit the maximum size of a database, use quotas instead (which were not available back then). But the “max size” will still show as “no limit” in the admin client.
