Soft Deletions - Do not work when > 900

Hi all,

We have tested Soft Deletions with varying times on a R653 mailfile. It appears that there is a limit between 450 and 912 hours. (Clients 654, Domino Servers were 654, now 702)

Our desired setting is 921(38days) as this covers the permanent tape backup cycle.

Unfortunately, as we originally went higher than 900, nothing has actually been automatically removed from Soft Deletions for the past 2years+

Has anybody else noticed this limitation, as other posts have referred to 65000hrs as an undocumented limit.

On finding the problem and running a one off agent to remove the unwanted trash items we saved 150GB ! Don’t fancy looking after the Trash folder via agents though.

Subject: Soft Deletions - restoring (off topic)

off topic but related:When you restore a mail file that has e-mails in the soft deletion folder, are they still there in the restored database, or does the server purge them? eg. if your soft deletion expiry time is 168 hours (one week) , and you restore a file that was backed up three weeks ago, will the deleted documents get purged immediately?
